“Really helpful in finding a good putter for my budget after purchasing a home. Willing to work with you and get you into what fits your budget at the time and don’t look down on you for having a smaller budget.” – Kevin Kerry
“What a gem of a place! Regripped my rat bashers in short time! Very friendly staff! Thanks very much! Think about this place on your next purchase!” – Terry Bessent
“Tim Brantley and his team demonstrated what a REAL fitting is all about. Great outcome and valuable swing tips in the process. 5 Star all the way.” – Larry Anton
He attends and plays golf at Abilene Christian University. He absolutely dominated on the course, playing himself into a playoff, ultimately winning and earning him a place at sectionals, the last stop qualifying event before competing in the US Open.
And of course, you remember Trent Pollard? He qualified for the Texas State Amateur in Midland this June. Trent is finishing up his senior year at Lake Dallas High School. He was recently accepted to the University of Texas at Tyler this fall and will participate in their golf program. I'm putting these guys through the wringer along with Robert Singletary and Rick Wright. Boys, you put the work in and made it happen, along with three great instructors that have helped in this part of your journey.
Congratulations, and keep thriving! We’re so proud of these boys we can barely stand it!
“How can I thank you for the lessons I got? I scheduled some lessons with Tim after a friend recommended him. After the first 15 minutes, he had me hitting the ball straight. STRAIGHT! I went out a couple days later, honestly expecting to play like I always do. I slice a ton! I remembered what Tim had said, even though I couldn’t remember the term he used. I never played as well as I did that day. I hit most of my fairways and greens. I usually don’t hit any. I’m ready for my second lesson! Thank you Tim!” – M.
"Just wanted to let you know that I’m loving the new clubs. I’ve played a couple of the better rounds I’ve played in a while with them. You guys did a great job with the fitting.
Really looking forward to getting the wedges and putter to complete the set.
Thanks again," - M.H. Really looking forward to getting the wedges and putter to complete the set.
"Tim was really good at what he did for me this summer. I had taken a few lessons from him, but wasn’t sure I wanted to get fit, even after reading and hearing about all of the success stories. He never pushed me to get new irons, but he did say that what I was using didn’t suit the swing I was developing. I decided that I would try. I didn’t have any expectations so I went with what he recommended after seeing me hit balls after my warm up. He listened to me and got me some irons and wedges that I knew I could hit and would actually want to keep. Please thank Tim for me again! I’m very happy!"
"One lesson and he had me hitting it better than I ever had"
“I usually don’t send emails, but I had to say that Tim fit me into a TaylorMade Sim Max Driver and I got 21 extra yards. That’s great and I think I’ll be good for a while. He gave me that driver and one lesson and he had me hitting it better than I ever had when I went to play it the first time. Thank you!” – G.P.
“I don’t know who the ones are writing in or if they are ladies, but I am and want to say they’ll treat you just like anyone else. Tim won’t talk down to you or make you feel like you are less than a player wanting to get into new equipment. Do yourself a favor and come in to get fit.” – A.E.
"I’ve never been treated so well in a golf shop before"
“Please pass on my thanks to Tim and the guys for my fitting. I tried most of the demo heads they had in the studio and I left with new PING Hybrids, TaylorMade Irons, Vokey Wedges and a Mizuno Driver. He even changed my golf ball to a ProV1x that spins more to get a higher launch. I have to say on the way out, a Scotty Cameron Putter caught my eye. Tim had a little time and he fit me into a new putter. I’ve never been treated so well in a golf shop before and appreciate the service and skill of his staff.” – B.
“I’m 50 and have a bad lower back. I finally was able to do what Tim told me and I began to stay in posture and use the big muscles in the swing, minimizing stress on my back. I’m starting to hit the ball better and farther. More importantly, I’m finding the center of the clubface more. Thank you, Tim!” – T.B.
“I have to say I doubted you guys. I saw the numbers and saw the flight of the ball, but I just didn’t believe that these Titleist irons would work for me. The T300 and Vokeys were PERFECT! My friends saw them and couldn’t believe how well I was hitting them. Also I have to also admit, Tim, you were right about the Oban steel shafts and pureing. I was able to send the ball at the pins most of the day. They were simply great. My friends are going to come in for a fitting soon. Again, thank you for proving me wrong. You made me a believer.” – P.
“Hey Tim, I really hope you get a chance to read this. First Happy Holidays, to you and your family and the crew at the Golf Station. I've been meaning to send you an update on my golf game due to the clubs that you fitted me for. I've been playing all summer making a few adjustments to the way I hit the ball and let me just say they are working great! I'm a little upset with myself for not coming to see you first before I spent thousands of dollars on wasted clubs. Anyway, I just got to tell you that I am EXTREMELY satisfied and confident in the clubs you guys built for me. All summer I believe my highest score was an 85 and that's with about 5 lost balls, but recently my scores have been a 75, 78, 80 and 81 now I know they're not the greatest scores in the world but for someone like me and all the health problems I've endured those scores are unbelievable, I couldn't be anymore happier.
So again I just want to thank you all for the GREAT clubs.” – Eric.
“Please pass my thanks to Tim and his staff on the bag they built me. It’s the best one I’ve ever been fit into in 30 years of playing. I’m glad I came all the way from McKinney after a friend recommended you. And the fact I could get fit for a Scotty [Cameron] was a complete and unexpected bonus. And I was in shock. I’ve been using the wrong putter for years. You’re my new store. Get used to it!” – D.D.
“I was looking for an updated fitting since the clubfitter I’ve used in the past had moved on and left the area. I found something close to home with The Golf Station.
My intent was to just get a feel for all the new offerings and go back at some point and maybe purchase new irons. I was skeptical to use anyone new, so I went in just hoping to have some fun at demo day. Fast forward to the end, I not only bought a new set of Srixon irons but also a driving iron and new wedges, all with custom shafts more suited to my game. I was always a Titleist guy but thanks to the expertise of the staff at The Golf Station and opening my mind a little, got a set of irons that produce a better flight, longer distance and more forgiveness just based on what fit my swing the best.
Tim also took the time to provide a little instruction as I went through the fitting process and the effect on my game has really got me excited. My handicap is a 3 and falling thanks to two of my best rounds this year since taking the new irons
Played this evening (finished around 8:45 dark); parred 7 of front nine, one bird, but it went downhill on the back nine - fatigue after hitting about 100 practice balls before the round. Shot 82 - should have shot 74-75....got to stop hitting behind the ball!
As you predicted, the [PING G]410s hit longer than my TaylorMade RSIs: I had to club down from what I usually hit on most shots. And I can't remember hitting so many greens as accurately as I did tonight. The clubs are so much fun to hit. I've never been satisfied being stuck hitting 85, 86, 88. But, after puring so many shots with these clubs I know I can shoot low 80s and break into the 70s. I'd like to get a game plan toward the goals of having a consistent swing/ball striking, and predictable chipping (distances).
Many thanks to you and Neal for equipping me with tools to improve my scores and for rejuvenating my love for the game." – T.W.

"I have to give a big thanks to the staff of The Golf Station for the work they did on my bag. The shaft on my PING G400 cracked, and Tim refit me into a new shaft from VA Composites. The Raijin woke my old driver up! It made me fall in love with my driver again, and it’s better than it was before. I didn’t have the money for a new driver, and Tim didn’t try to sell me one. It’s a totally different experience here. Thank you so much!" ~ C.H.
Tim and Chris, Thanks guys for everything! You made me feel a lot more confident about fitters than I was before I came to see you guys. Well at least I have confidence in The Golf Station. If I ever need anything related to the game of golf from now on, you guys will be the FIRST people I come to see. Thanks again so much! You'll never know how much I appreciate the time you spent with me and your patience!! - E.F.
This gentleman went to a “national fitter” and had a painful experience. Needless to say, a fitting should not be painful or bring out a negative response. More often than not, sadly we end up defending the industry and working to return some credibility back into what we do. There are good fitters out there, but what we do is different. We return credibility by simply listening, giving options and striving to be better in everything we do. No pressure and a quality build that you would find on a Pro Tour van.
The man got rid of his current set because the fit wasn’t what he was looking for.
Tim recently gave a lesson to a PGA professional that had some rotational issues due to a hip replacement. Because of this his shots were not as powerful as he was used to. He was tired of weak shots that moved left to right. After working through some drills to incorporate his upper body into his takeaway, the snap to his shots returned. He was hitting the ball a club farther with a right-to-left ball flight. It was simply a matter of sequencing his swing correctly.
146 yards with a pitching wedge. My buddy got every bit of it. It never left the flag and stopped about 6 feet from the pin for a kick in birdie, which came in handy because we were playing Match Play against a pretty determined duo. This would have almost been a full 6-iron with his old set if he had hit the green. (Sorry, if you’re reading this, but it’s true!)
A good example is playing Bella Collina Country Club in Florida and nearly being blown off the course by the wind and watching two of the best players in the store grind for four hours and shoot par or better. Watching Tim, on a Par 5 for example, hit driver, 3 wood, 3 wood and two-putt from 520 yards into that wind was not only impressive, but it was also inspiring. I won’t tell you what I scored on that hole; needless to say, it wasn’t “5”. Being able to grind through a tough round or harsh conditions is one of the more difficult things to do in golf. You can dig deep and figure out how to navigate trouble or when it gets tough; you can beat the daylights out of a bunker in frustration (sorry, I had to go there).
These gents were fit a while back into Mizuno JPX Hot Metal Irons with Accra i70 shafts and a PING G400Max Driver, respectively. They came back in to tell us how they were getting along with their new clubs. Their signs speak volumes. We see these results a lot. I admit, I go on YouTube and watch reviews of clubs for the entertainment factor, but about 95% or more of them are hitting the demo club that is there to give you an idea of what a club might do for you. Most, in my opinion, are advertising for the companies, and I don’t have a problem with that. But they can give a false representation of what a club is or isn’t and give a golfer the wrong impression. Don’t get me wrong; there are a couple of them I like to watch and take notes from. Yes, I do take notes: I told y'all, I’m a geek.
"In December I came in for an iron fitting and left having been fit for Srixon Z585. I tried as hard as I could to be fit into Z785, but after about a dozen strikes, Tim and Chris just said, “No.” The truth hurt, but they were right. But once I accepted that I still needed to be in more of a game improvement iron, I got into a groove. I was fit into Nippon Modus 105’s in regular flex and got them SST Pured. When I got them, they were almost too pretty to hit, but I finally took them out and played. I don’t know what the guys who built these did, but I was blown away by how they performed. I was beyond impressed." ~ I.C.
"Tim, my name is “T,” and I wanted you to know I came into your shop and received outstanding customer service. It’s refreshing to walk into a store in today’s world and get the service your staff provided. The guy that fixed my lie angles was very knowledgeable and said I should have you take a look at my swing. I just moved here from Chicago, and I’ve been trying out a few teaching pros, trying to settle on an instructor. If you get a chance, please give me a call or shoot me a text as I would like to set up a lesson. I’ve been fighting the full swing and chipping yips for a while now on the course. Thanks!" ~ T
There's an old saying "Good things come in small packages." For myself it was a great thing that I found The Golf Station. It’s not a big box fitting studio like others you'll see around the DFW area. I have been fitted several times all over the DFW area in the past years and I must say that Tim is far better than what other fitters in the area are! I was skeptical at first because of all the bad equipment I purchased from other fitters that are now collecting dust in my old bags.
The first thing he asked me was about my health (which isn't the greatest) and he said we'll get you into the proper equipment to accommodate my health so that by the time I get to the 15th hole or so, I won't be dragging my butt waiting for the round to be over. Well after hitting several shots and having what my spin rates should be, they set me up with PING G700's. The shaft is super light and now by the time I'm finished with 18, I'm ready to go again! I wanted to send an email to thank you for fixing my driver. I went to [Name removed] and I got fit, and I thought it was going to work for me but it didn’t. I was fit into a PING G410 and it looked like it was going to work for me until I got it on the course. Admittedly I didn’t understand all the numbers on the screen, it just got in the air and went high, but it didn’t go far. I was being outdriven by my buddies who were using drivers built a couple of years ago. I felt like I wasted money. I drove by the store and walked in. I happened to have my bag in the car and Tim couldn’t have been nicer and gave me a lot of information. He took me in the studio and in about 30 minutes he had me hitting straighter shots and he took the shaft I was in, and explained that my driver was spinning way too much, I think over 3500 RPM; that will always get the ball up, but at the cost of distance.
My fitting put me in a UST TourSpx Attas shaft and my distance got better and I was seeing the ball fly high, but with bette
"After not playing golf for a year due to complete frustration with my game, and my sharp duck hook keeping every shot out of play, I went to get my clubs fitted by a local Raleigh fitter found on Yelp. The fitter had me swing a couple of clubs and told me he could not fit my clubs to me, that I would have to buy a new set and then he could fit them to me. He didn’t provide any suggestions, just to send him clubs I saw and was interested in and he could tell me if they would work.
I called my friend Tommy and relayed my story to him. Tim Brantley happened to be with Tommy at the time, and could not believe the story I was telling and asked me to call him the next day.
Upon calling Tim, he interviewed me thoroughly in regards to how I hit my clubs, some of my likes, dislikes, and various things about my swing I had never considered. He gave me a list of several irons to go to a retailer and look at and asked that I send him a couple of videos of my swing.
