Many reviewers have, in a tongue-in-cheek way, labeled the PING G430 Irons boring.

That’s because there is no hype, just PING talk. They go further. They’re more forgiving. They’re easier to use. No gimmicks. No exaggerated claims.

First, though, let's acknowledge how compact, solid, and simple they look.

They’re not clumsy and large.

They look like PING irons.

Bore me. I’d like to surprise myself with how much improvement I could make in my approach shots.

The secrets to added distance

Faster ball speeds. A thinner, but stronger, face, allows for more flexing and more ‘spring’.

Stronger lofts. The #7 iron is 31°. That’s stronger. You won’t notice it though because these clubs launch the ball higher. In fact, you’ll probably find the 20° #4 iron the easiest #4 iron you’ve ever hit.

And more forgiving

If the #4 iron is so easy to hit, imagine how much easier every other club in the bag is.

Notice the tungsten weight. The CoG is lower and deeper. That creates the higher launch despite the stronger lofts. It also helps to increase MOI (forgiveness).

The forgiveness is further enhanced by 7 flex zones across the face.
