Titanium has been the go-to driver face material for over 20 years now. And because lighter faces generate higher ball speeds, we’ve seen these titanium faces get progressively thinner. But golf’s governing bodies have placed limits on how thin a driver face can be. That’s where the new TaylorMade Stealth Driver comes in. Its carbon-composite face is a massive 40% lighter than an equivalent titanium face. Why does this matter? Read on to find out.

Or, if you want to get the Stealth Driver in your hands, let us know.

More of your energy is transferred

When you strike a golf ball, it compresses and propels forward off the face. The lighter the face, the less energy is lost to ball compression. That leaves more energy for forward propulsion, increasing your ball speed.

The Stealth has a carbon-composite face that’s 40% lighter than an equivalent titanium face. That means higher speeds and more distance from the same swing speed.

More speed is great, but you also want forgiveness

When you touch the 60X Carbon Twist Face, you’ll notice its slightly rough texture. This friction is an intentional part of the design that controls spin regardless of playing
conditions, giving you better launch and a more consistent shot shape.

You can swing faster too

While the all-new face increases ball speed, every golfer appreciates some help with increasing swing speed as well. That’s why the advanced aerodynamic shape that powered the SIM and SIM2 remain in the Stealth lineup. The sole is angled to allow better airflow across the bottom of the club on the downswing, while a heavier rear weight increases MOI for added forgiveness.

Because nobody hits the center every time

Low-face strikes are part of the game, that’s why TaylorMade’s Thru-Slot Speed Pocket has remained a key technology in their drivers over the years. The same is true for all the drivers in the Stealth lineup. The Speed Pocket keeps ball speeds and launch up when you strike the bottom of the face.
